Socially Just Assessment Resources

Student Affairs Research and Assessment (SARA) has compiled a selection of resources that are focused on Socially Just Assessment. Each of these resources are intended to deepen the reader’s understanding of how the assessment process addresses bias, is culturally responsive, and seeks to understand the impact of social structures on power and oppression. These selected resources serve to help professionals better understand how to use assessment for the purpose of identifying inequities in higher education and within specific institutional contexts.

Demographic Question Bank

The SARA team and the Office of Identity, Equity, and Engagement (IEE) have created a bank of demographic questions that you should use when building surveys, intake forms, etc. The questions are located here and they are also in Baseline. If you need access to them in Baseline, please contact your assessment liaison.

Anthology has brought together experts across the field of higher education to create a podcast series that provides in-depth conversation on just a selection of the many nuanced topics that fall under the umbrella of socially just assessment. Each of these conversations focuses on a singular topic and is meant to deepen the listener's understanding of critical issues assessment professionals deal with in their day-to-day work.
