Position Title
Senior Research Associate for the Student Affairs Data Lake

Mark Manning is a Senior Research Associate in the Office of Student Affairs Research and Assessment. He has over six (6) years of experience working in various roles at UNC Charlotte where collecting, manipulating, analyzing, and visualizing data has been integral to better understanding how various programs, activities, and initiatives impact student success. Prior to transitioning to Student Affairs Research and Assessment, he supported the implementation and management of the UNC Charlotte Niner Engage platform which is used as the primary student engagement data tool for the Division of Student Affairs. In this role, he was able to expand the use of Niner Engage into a centralized data store for co-curricular experiences, as well as transform the use of the system to a one-stop-shop for impactful programs, events, campus resources, and organizations for UNC Charlotte students. He partnered with over 40 departments and programs across the university and has enhanced the way staff and faculty engage and interact with students by the use of Niner Engage. 

Mr. Manning believes strongly in the value and power of integrated data to positively transform the student experience. He is dedicated to engaging in research and data analytics to drive data-driven decision-making across the institution.  

Mr. Manning received a B.A. and M.A. in Communication Studies from UNC Charlotte. He is actively involved in NASPA and NACA.
